NALAKALU – Decoración y muebles de diseño ecológicos

On Thursday, September 11, we hosted an event in Guanacaste together with Blue Water, a company dedicated to high-end real estate. We selected one of their properties for sale and transformed it by furnishing it with Na Lakalú pieces, showing how design can bring a space to life and convey an authentic, welcoming lifestyle.

It was an opportunity to connect with clients, partners, and friends in an inspiring setting, where design and architecture came together to create experiences.

For Na Lakalú, establishing a presence in Guanacaste represents much more than opening a new location. As Melissa Araya, who leads the brand’s creative vision, shares, their Tamarindo showroom—opened over two years ago—has become a bridge to the region’s major real estate projects and a meeting point for designers, architects, and international residents. Above all, it has allowed the brand to continue building community through design, supported by clients who value products that carry both artisanal essence and local identity.

Over the years, Na Lakalú has refined a unique approach to furnishing luxury coastal properties. Each piece integrates diverse materials and reflects the craftsmanship of Costa Rican artisans. As Melissa explains, every creation is conceived not just as furniture but as art for the home—design that tells stories, connects roots, and builds identity. Highlighting locally made furniture is at the heart of this vision: each piece embodies more than 60 years of legacy in quality and design, a tribute to Costa Rican talent that offers authenticity and durability to every coastal home.

For Rebeca Clower, founder of Blue Water, the collaboration exemplifies how design and real estate can work hand in hand to elevate the lifestyle in Guanacaste. Her goal has always been to showcase the true essence of the region—a place where natural beauty, authenticity, and sophistication coexist. She believes that luxury in Guanacaste is not only about high-end finishes but about connection: to the ocean, the community, and a slower, more intentional way of living.

From her experience in the real estate market, Rebeca emphasizes how thoughtfully furnished spaces can completely transform the way a property is perceived. High-end pieces not only elevate aesthetics but also help potential buyers visualize the lifestyle they’re investing in. A beautifully furnished home creates emotional connection, adds immediate value, and often sells faster by standing out as a move-in-ready space that embodies comfort and design.

Positioning luxury homes in Guanacaste, however, requires balance and care. As Rebeca notes, each project must integrate harmoniously with its natural surroundings while meeting the expectations of an increasingly international clientele. The challenge lies in combining sophistication with sustainability—ensuring privacy, quality infrastructure, and an authentic sense of place.

At Na Lakalú, we believe that design has the power to create experiences and foster connections. Our collaboration with Blue Water is just the beginning, and we look forward to continuing to build a stronger community in Guanacaste—one that celebrates lifestyle, creativity, and the beauty of living by the coast.
